CC1: Listening for Potential
TUE 23 JUL
8:30am - 10:00am
Priming for an insightful conversation begins with how you listen. What you listen to is as important as what you listen for. Often when people listen, their attention is on how to identify the gaps and solve problems. Listening for Potential focuses our attention on people’s strengths, goals and possibilities. We do this through the 4 Levels of Listening.
CC2: Choose Your Focus
THU 25 JUL
8:30am - 10:00am
There are 5 levels on which we can focus whenever we are thinking about any issue. The level of focus can determine whether we go into a reward or threat response. When you consciously Choose Your Focus, you can facilitate a much more powerful and energising conversation.
CC3: Facilitate an Insight
TUE 30 JUL
8:30am - 10:00am
As a coach, your role is to facilitate a conversation where people generate their own insights & ideas. Your role is to help people think better, and not to tell them what to do. When people generate their own insights, there is more ownership of the ideas, and the ideas are more likely to stick and applied widely.
CC4: Design Actions
THU 1 AUG
8:30am - 10:00am
People experience a rush of energy when they have an insight, making them feel motivated and ready for action. Use that motivation to design specific actions that will take them towards the desired outcome or the solution. This intense motivation passes quickly. It’s important to tap that motivation as quickly as possible, while the insight is still fresh.
CC5: Embedding New Habits (REVIEW)
TUE 6 AUG
8:30am - 10:00am
We can help people stretch to complete challenging actions and repeat new & useful behaviours by providing accountability and support. We do this by following up on actions they have set for themselves. Use the REVIEW model for follow-up conversations, project reviews and ongoing development discussions.
